Here is a flat edge piece

a splash of color and a line

Some of the pieces might be nature
others are nurture

Is it another language that I learn
more friends and other countries I live in

Slowly over time
another piece slips into place

Looking closely into confusion
stepping back to see the vagueness

My life gradually building
and chasing away the void.

Paul Kennedy was born in Spain and has lived in many cities and countries, including Japan, Micronesia, and Germany. After moving to Tokyo to study, he writes for TCK TOWN when he’s not working full time as a Language Instructor in downtown Tokyo.

Paul’s myriad experiences amongst many cultures gives him a profound, layered and colourful view of the world—one which he enjoys expressing through poetry.
